PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men's swimming and diving team was defeated by Loyola College, 113-100, on Saturday, November 9 in Providence, R.I.

Earning first-place finishes for the Friars were junior Bryan Flynn (Middletown, R.I.), senior Tom Darrow (Cranston, R.I.), sophomore Brian Dorgan (Red Bank, N.J.) and junior Pat Franzen (Taftsville, Vt.).

Flynn won the 50 meter freestyle in a time of 25.32. Darrow took first in the 200 meter breaststroke with a time of 2:28.97. Dorgan placed first in the 400 meter freestyle in 4:49.79, and Franzen won the 200 meter breaststroke in a time of 2:50.18.

The Friars also won the 200 meter freestyle relay with a time of 1:43.25. The team was composed of sophomore Matthew Raske (New Rochelle, N.Y.), junior Patrick Kavanagh (Newburgh, N.Y.), Flynn and Darrow.

Providence will host Holy Cross on Friday, November 15 in Providence, R.I. Diving is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m., followed by the swim events at 5:00 p.m.
