PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College sophomore defender Zach Tobin (North Kingstown, R.I.) was named Third Team All-New England on December 9.

Tobin, who started all 19 games for the Friar men's soccer team, scored one goal and notched one assist this season. He has started all 37 games the Friars have played the last two seasons. He is the team's top defender and played an integral role in the Friars advancing to the BIG EAST Semifinals in November.

Tobin, the son of Megan and Mark Tobin, graduated from North Kingstown High School prior to attending Providence College. In high school, he was an NSCAA Adidas All-American and Parade All-American in 2000 and 2001.
