Men's Soccer Set To Face Penn In First Round Of NCAA Tournament

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men's soccer team (12-5-3) will face Penn (8-8-1) in the first round of the 2013 NCAA Championship on Thursday, Nov. 21 at Rhodes Field in Philadelphia, Pa.

    The Providence College men's soccer team gathered in McPhails on Monday, Nov. 18 to watch the selection show for the 2013 NCAA Men's Soccer Championship.

    Providence earned an at large bid to the NCAA tournament. The match-up with the Quakers marks the Friars' seventh trip to the NCAA Tournament and it will be Craig Stewart's first trip as Providence's head coach. The Friars have made runs to the NCAA Tournament in 1983, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010 and most recently, 2011.

    Penn earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament as the Ivy League Champion.
