PROVIDENCE, R.I. - It was announced on November 13 at the annual BIG EAST Awards Banquet in Tampa, Fla. that Providence College men's soccer senior standout Ryan Maduro (Bristol, R.I.) was named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team, while junior Timothy Ritter (Weston, Mass.) earned third team honors.

Maduro, who became the first Friar ever to earn All-BIG EAST First Team honors twice (2006, 2007), has been named to an All-BIG EAST Team for four consecutive seasons. He is the only Friar to earn such distinction. In addition to his first team accolades in 2006 and 2007, Maduro, who was named a 2006 NSCAA All-America First Team, garnered All- BIG EAST Third Team honors in 2005 in his first full season at Providence. In 2008, Maduro has played in all 19 matches and ranks third on the team in scoring with two goals and six assists, including one goal and four assists in BIG EAST Conference matches. His six assists mark the highest total on the team and matches a career high. In addition, he currently has 50 career points (14 goals, 22 assists), which ranks eighth all-time in the Providence career scoring list.

For Ritter, it marks the second time that he has been named to the All-BIG EAST Third Team as he also earned the honor in 2006. Ritter leads the team in scoring with five goals and four assists, including two goals and two assists in BIG EAST Conference matches. He recorded a season-high one goal and two assists in 3-0 win over Pittsburgh on November 1 to help the Friars clinch a BIG EAST Championship First Round home game.

Providence (9-7-3) awaits an NCAA Tournament bid which will be announced on Monday, November 17 between 6:00 and 6:30 p.m. on ESPNews.
