Notre Dame (7-4-3) - Notre Dame is in seventh place in BIG EAST league standings with a 3-3-2 mark ... Last week, the Fighting Irish were defeated by UConn (2-0), but earned a 5-4 overtime win against Syracuse ... Notre Dame has recorded a 3-0 mark all-time against the Friars. Last year, the Fighting Irish defeated PC, 3-0, in South Bend, Ind. ... Freshman forward Shayne Walton (San Diego, Calif.) leads the Fighting Irish in scoring with nine goals and five assists in 14 games.

Providence College (5-8) - The Friars enter Wednesday's game battling to be one of the top eight teams in the league for the BIG EAST Playoffs. PC is currently in eighth place in league standings with a 3-4 mark in BIG EAST action ... On Sunday, PC earned its fifth win of the season with a 4-2 victory against Villanova at Glay Field ... The Friars have recorded a 3-2 record in home games this season ... Providence sophomore Kevin Jones (Westford, Mass.) scored in each of the PC's two games last week. Jones, who has 16 points this season (seven goals, two assists), leads the team in scoring.
