Rutgers University (8-4-2) - Rutgers enters Friday's game ranked 19th in the country and third in the BIG EAST with a 5-1 record. Friday's game is a key BIG EAST game for both teams ... In its most recent contest, Rutgers tied Lehigh, 1-1, on Tuesday ... Junior Brian Piesner (Commack, N.Y.) leads the team in scoring with eight points (three goals, two assists) in 14 games ... Junior goalkeeper Jonathan Conway (Aston, Pa.) has played in all 14 games this season and has recorded a .79 goals against average, a .758 save percentage and a 8-4-2 mark.

Providence College (4-7) - The Friars will play their first game in 10 days on Friday. In PC's most recent game, the Friars were defeated by Brown, 2-1, on October 6. The Friars had won four consecutive games before suffering back-to-back losses to West Virginia (2-0, on Oct. 3) and Brown ... PC has posted a 0-2-1 mark all-time against Rutgers. The Friars' only tie against the Scarlet Knights was a 2-2 draw at Glay Field in 1996. Last season, Rutgers defeated the Friars, 3-1 ... Providence is led on offense by sophomore Kevin Jones (Westford, Mass.). Jones has 11 points this season (five goals, one assist) ... Senior goalkeeper Dan Pires (Ludlow, Mass.) has started all 11 games this season for the Friars. He has posted a 1.59 goals against average, a .790 save percentage and three shutouts.
