Men's Soccer to Host West Virginia in Key BIG EAST Clash on Saturday

West Virginia University (6-2) - West Virginia has posted a 6-2 overall mark and a 2-2 record in BIG EAST play this season ... In its most recent game, the Mountaineers defeated the University of Pittsburgh, 3-0, on Wednesday ... The Mountaineers' only two losses this season have been against sixth -ranked Connecticut (1-0) and 24th ranked Seton Hall (3-2) ... Sophomore midfielder Craig Patton (East York, Ontario) leads the team in scoring with 15 points (six goals, three assists) ... Senior goalkeeper Carlos Iga (Monterrey, Mexico) has played in all eight games this season and has recorded a 6-2 mark.

Providence College (4-5) - The Friars enter today's game with a four-game winning streak. On Tuesday, the Friars defeated URI, 4-0, at PC's Glay Field ... PC has posted a 1-2 mark all-time against the Mountaineers. The Friars' only win against WVU was a 2-1 victory at Glay Field in 1996. Last season, West Virginia defeated the Friars, 2-1 ... Providence is led on offense by last week's BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week sophomore Kevin Jones (Westford, Mass.). Jones scored four goals last week and added one goal and one assist in PC's win against URI. He has 11 points this season (five goals, one assist) ... Senior goalkeeper Dan Pires has started all nine games this season for the Friars. He has posted a 1.49 goals against average, an .809 save percentage and three shutouts.
