PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College sophomore forward Kevin Jones of Westford, Mass. was named BIG EAST Soccer Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, September 28.

Jones, who leads the Friars in scoring with 11 points (five goals, one assist), received his Offensive Player of the Week honor after scoring all four goals in PC's two victories last week. On September 23, Jones tallied two goals to lead the Friars to a 2-1 win against Harvard. For Jones, it marked his first career muliple-goal game and first game-winning tally. On September 27, he recorded his second consecutive muliple-goal game in PC's 2-0 win at the University of Pittsburgh.

Jones, the son of Rob and Pat Jones, graduated from Westford Academy in 1996.

Providence, which has won its last four games to improve to 4-5 overall, will return to action on Saturday, October 3 against West Virginia at 1:00 p.m. at PC's Glay Field.
