PROVIDENCE, R.I. - MEN'S SOCCER

UNIVERSITY OF RHODE ISLAND AT PROVIDENCE COLLEGE

University of Rhode Island (3-2-1) - The Rams have posted a 3-2-1 mark this season. URI opened the season with consecutive wins against Maine and Hartford. Today's game is the Rams' only contest this season against a BIG EAST opponent ... Senior forward Adam Piotrowski (Hackettstown, N.J.) leads the team in scoring with nine points (four goals, one assist) ... Junior George Karadmetriou (Jersey City, N.J.) is the Rams' leading goalkeeper this season. He has made 25 saves and posted a .694 save percentage and a 1.80 goals against average.

Providence College (3-5-0) - The Friars enter today's game with a three-game winning streak. Last week, the Friars earned wins against Harvard (2-1) and Pittsburgh (2-0) ... The Friars have won the last two meetings between the two teams. Last year, PC defeated the Rams, 2-1, at North Kingstown ... Providence is led on offense by sophomore Kevin Jones (Westford, Mass.). Jones tallied all four of his goals last week in PC's two wins ... Senior Dan Pires has started all eight games this season for the Friars. He has posted 1.71 goals against average and a .803 save percentage. In PC's 2-0 win against Pittsburgh on Sunday, Pires registered his sixth career shutout.
