MEN'S SOCCER vs. WEST VIRGINIA AT PROVIDENCE COLLEGE

Saturday, September 9 - 2:00 p.m. at Glay Field

West Virginia (1-1) - West Virginia has posted a 4-1 mark all-time versus the Friars. The Mountaineers only loss to PC was a 2-1 defeat in 1996 at Glay Field ... WVU opened the 2000 season with a 3-1 win against St. Francis. On Wednesday, the Mountaineers suffered their first loss of the season when they were shutout by Duquesne, 3-0 ... On offense, senior midfielder Adam Caulker (Bronx, N.Y.) has been the top playmaker for WVU, recording three assists in two games. Senior goalkeeper Brian Yochim (Erie, Pa.) has played in two games, recording a 2.00 goals against average and a .625 save percentage.

Providence College (0-3) - The Friars enter Saturday's game looking for their first win of the season in the team's BIG EAST opener ... On Wednesday, the Friars were defeated by Fairfield, 3-2 ... Last season, West Virginia defeated the Friars, 2-0, in Morgantown, W.Va. ... Freshman Jonathan Rhode (Guilford, Conn.) has been one of the Friars' top offensive players this season. He has registered one goal in three games. Junior goalkeeper Danny Glynn (Manchester, England) has started all three games for the Friars. Glynn has posted a 2.00 goals against average and a .647 save percentage.
