Corbally And Jones Earn All-New England Soccer Honors

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College sophomore back Kempes Corbally of Dublin, Ireland and junior forward Kevin Jones of Westford, Mass. earned All-New England soccer honors. Jones was named to the Division I First Team and Corbally received Division I Second Team accolades.

Corbally was one of PC's top defenders all season. He started all 17 of the team's games and led Friar defenders in scoring with seven points (three goals, one assist). For his efforts, he earned Second Team All-BIG EAST accolades. Last year, Corbally was named to the BIG EAST All-Rookie Team.

Jones had a strong season for the Friars in 1999. He led the team in scoring (25 points), goals (eight) and assists (nine). It marks the second consecutive season he has led team in scoring. Jones ranks fourth all-time at Providence in scoring (52 points) and goals (18). This season, he received Second Team All-BIG EAST honors. Jones, a former all-scholastic athlete, is a 1996 graduate of Westford Academy.

Providence finished the season with an 8-8-1 overall record and a 5-6 mark in BIG EAST play. -end-
