    Providence Drops 2-1 Decision to Harvard

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College men's soccer team was defeated by Harvard, 2-1, Tuesday, September 23 at Providence, R.I. Senior captain midfielder Tom McLaughlin led the Harvard offense with four points (two goals).

    McLaughlin tallied the first goal of the game when he took a feed from Ricky Le and chipped a shot past PC junior goalkeeper Dan Pires at 22:33. Harvard increased its lead to 2-0 when McLaughlin converted on a pass from Richard Powell and Will Hench with 14 remaining in the second half.

    Providence senior captain Juan Acevedo scored the Friar's only goal at 14:06 on a pass from junior midfielder Bobby Brown.

    Harvard junior goalkeeper Jordan Dupuis registered eight saves on 13 shots in the win. PC's Dan Pires recorded 2 saves on 11 shots in the loss

    Harvard improved its overall record to 2-1-1, while Providence dropped to 2-5 overall.

    Providence College returns to action on Friday, September 28 against Syracuse at PC's Glay Field.
