    Rutgers Beats Providence, 3-1

    PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Rutgers defeated Providence College, 3-1, in BIG EAST men's soccer action Sunday, October 26 at Piscataway, N.J.

    PC's senior captain Juan Acevedo scored the game's first goal at the 47:07 mark. Simon Forster scored Rutger's first goal to even the game at 1-1. Rutgers' Niklas Sandor and Mark Simpson netted the Scarlet Knights next two goals at the 69:59 and 73:55 mark of the game to put them ahead 3-1.

    Rutgers goalkeeper John Conway made four saves in the win. PC's Dan Pires registered five stops in the loss.

    Rutgers University improved its overall record to 9-6-2 and 6-2-2 in the BIG EAST, while Providence dropped to 3-13-0 overall and 1-9-0 in the BIG EAST.

    Providence College returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 1 against Georgetown at Georgetown at 1:00 p.m.
