WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Providence College men's soccer team (8-6-3, 5-4-2 BIG EAST) earned its second overtime road victory this week as it defeated Georgetown (9-8-1, 6-5-0 BIG EAST), 2-1, on Saturday, October 31 in the regular season-finale in Washington, D.C. Senior Timothy Ritter (Weston, Mass.) scored the match winner 2:56 into overtime as the Friars recorded their third straight win.

With the score deadlocked at 1-1 and the Friars playing up a man after a Georgetown player received a red card early in the second half, junior Andrew Sousa (Fall River, Mass.) played a cross into the middle of the 18-yard box to Ritter. Ritter then connected on a header that found the back of the net at 92:56 as PC won its second overtime road game this week after winning 1-0 at West Virginia on Wednesday. For Ritter, who also scored the match winner at West Virginia, it marked his fifth goal of the season, all of which have been game winners.

Providence took a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute when Sousa scored his second goal of the season. Sousa ripped a shot from 30-yards out into the upper right corner of the net. Sophomores John Raley (St. Inigoes, Md.) and Daniel Fabian (Southbury, Conn.) assisted on the goal. The Hoyas scored the equalizer when Jose Colchao tallied his fourth goal of the season off a corner kick. Alex Verdia and Mark Zeman assisted on the goal.

The Friars, who have already claimed a BIG EAST Championship berth, will await the result of the West Virginia/Seton Hall match later tonight. If West Virginia loses, the Friars will host a BIG EAST Championship First Round game.
