Men's Soccer Defeated By Seton Hall, 5-0
Oct. 15, 2000 SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. -- Seton Hall defeated Providence College, 5-0, in men's BIG EAST soccer action on Sunday, October 15 in South Orange, N.J. The Pirates took a quick 2-0 lead as Phil Swenda scored two goals within 14 seconds at 18:46 and 19:00. Arda Altincatal added another first half goal for Seton Hall at 31:32 as the Pirates entered halftime with a 3-0 lead. Seton Hall increased its lead to 5-0 in the second half as Ryan McGowan and Greg Strohmann scored at 48:23 and 50:38. With the victory, Seton Hall raised its record to 8-5 overall and 4-4 in BIG EAST action, while Providence fell to 3-9-1 overall and 3-5-1 in league action. Providence College returns to action on Friday, October 20 at Syracuse at Syracuse, N.Y. at 5:00 p.m. at SOUTH ORANGE, N.J.
