STORRS, Conn. -- The second-ranked University of Connecticut Huskies defeated Providence College, 4-1, in men's BIG EAST soccer action on Wednesday, October 4 in Storrs, Conn. The Huskies got two goals from freshman Cesar Cuellar to lead the team to victory.

Senior Darin Lewis tallied the first goal of the game at the 7:26 mark to give UConn a 1-0 lead. Cuellar added to the UConn lead with his first goal of the game at 32:21.

The Friars got on the scoreboard at 53:19 as Tom Blesso blasted in PC's only goal of the game. Brent Rahim (68:03) and Cuellar (76:39) each added an insurance goal for the Huskies to give the team a 4-1 win.

With the victory, Connecticut raised its record to 8-1-1 overall and 4-0-1 in BIG EAST action, while Providence fell to 2-7-1 overall and 2-4-1 in league action.

Providence College returns to action on Sunday, October 8 against Notre Dame at PC's Glay Field at 1:00 p.m.
