JAMAICA, N.Y. - The No. 22/20 Providence College men's soccer team (3-3-3, 1-3-1 BIG EAST) was defeated, 1-0, at No. 4/6 St. John's (8-0-2, 3-0-1 BIG EAST) Sunday night in a BIG EAST Conference match.

The Red Storm scored the lone goal of the match as Nelson Beccera converted a penalty kick in the 86th minute to give St. John's the win.

The Friars had an 11-9 shot advantage, including a 4-2 edge in attempts on goal, however they were unable to convert. Senior Ryan Maduro (Bristol, R.I.) finished with two of the four shots on goal for PC.

Providence is back in action on Saturday, October 4 with a with a road match at Seton Hall beginning at 7:00 p.m.
