SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The No. 22/20 Providence College men's soccer team (3-2-3, 1-2-1 BIG EAST) was defeated, 3-0, at Syracuse (5-1-2, 2-1-0 BIG EAST) Friday night in a BIG EAST Conference match. The Orange scored the only goal it would need in the 15th minute when Kyle Hall headed in his third goal of the season go give Syracuse a 1-0 lead at the halftime whistle. Justin Arena scored his first goal of the season as the Orange increased its lead to 2-0 in the 67th minute, while Nick Olivetti put the game away just over five minutes later as he also tallied his first of the season. The Friars finished with a 7-6 shot advantage, but were unable to score.
Providence is back in action on Sunday, September 28 with a match at No. 4/6 St. John's beginning at 7:00 p.m.
