    PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

The Providence College men's soccer team pushed its season-opening unbeaten streak to four games with a 1-1 home tie against 20th-ranked Brown in the de facto title game of the 2013 Ocean State Soccer Classic. The Friars are now 3-0-1 on the season, while Brown moves to 1-0-1.

The Friars took a 1-0 lead late in the first half as senior Anthony Baumann (Spring Hill, Fla.) played a corner kick that sophomore Manny Andrade (Boston, Mass.) sent to towards the goal, where junior Phil Towler (Cumbria, England) powered a header just past Brown goalkeeper Josh Weiner for his first goal of the season. The goal was scored at 44:46.

Brown tied the score at 49:33 when Jose Salama sent a cross to the far post where Daniel Taylor headed in his first goal of the year.

In the Friar net, red-shirt junior Keasel Broome (Claymont, Del.) came up with five saves, including one in the second overtime stanza. Weiner made four saves in the Brown goal, including one in the first overtime. All told Providence took 15 shots to Brown's 10 and had six corner kicks to Brown's four.

With the tie, the teams were named Co-Champions of the 2013 Ocean State Classic, which was being played for the fourth consecutive season. Providence claimed the first two titles (2010-11), while Brown won the 2012 edition of the four-team tournament.
