The Providence College men's lacrosse team kicks off the fall season by getting involved in the local community. The team has formed a strong bond with the Boys' and Girls' Club and looks to continue the relationship through the remainder of the year.

On Sunday, October 14 the men's lacrosse team attended the annual Cumberland Boys' and Girls' Club Blackstone River Duck Race. The men's lacrosse team, along with Head Coach Chris Gabrielli, spent the day preparing and cleaning up the race which typically raises over $30,000 for the youth center and its programming.

The lacrosse team has initiated a relationship with the Providence Boy's and Girl's Club located on Chad Brown Street. Every Thursday afternoon members of the team head down to the youth center to instruct the community's youth on the game of lacrosse. The team hosts two sessions, breaking down participants by age. The kids learn basic skills from catching and throwing to shooting. The Friars hope to maintain a strong connection with the Providence community.
