PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men's lacrosse team kicked off the fall season by getting involved in the local community. The Friars teamed up with the Cumberland Boy's and Girls' Club to raise money for the community center. All proceeds from the race will go to supplementing the club's operating budget for youth activities and programs.
On Sunday, October 20 the men's lacrosse team attended the annual Cumberland Boys' and Girls' Club Blackstone River Duck Race. From 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. the men's lacrosse team spent the day preparing and cleaning up the race which typically raises over $30,000 for the youth center and its programming.
The members of the lacrosse program enjoy getting involved in the local community. "We have been involved in the Boys and Girls Club Rubber Ducky Race for the past four years," senior Bryan Annecchino (Darien, Conn.) shared. "It is a great opportunity for us to bond as a team and give back to the community."
