The Providence College men's lacrosse program announced on Oct. 10. that graduate student Mike Noyes (Ocean City, Md.), senior JT Weber (West Hartford, Conn.) and junior Sean Wright (Silver Spring, Md.) have been named team captains for the 2013 season.
Noyes played in 14 games for the Friars during 2012 season and appeared in the starting line-up 13 times. The defenseman finished the season with two points on two goals.
In 2012 Weber played in 14 games for the Friars and appeared in the starting line-up 12 times. The attacker finished last season with 15 points on 12 goals and three assists, including three multi-goal games. Weber collected 11 ground balls and owned a .575 shots-on-goal percentage.
Wright played in 14 games for the Friars in 2012 and appeared in the starting line-up 10 times. The attacker looks to build off of his 21 point sophomore campaign, when he notched 11 goals and 10 assists. Wright finished the 2012 season with two multi-goal games.
The trio will look to provide leadership for the men's lacrosse program under the direction of the new coaching staff led by Head Coach Chris Gabrielli.
"This group of men, combined with their experience, passion and eagerness to learn is what we need for a successful transition under our new system," Gabrielli said. "These three individuals will be key in implementing the new philosophy and objectives of the Friar lacrosse program."
Gabrielli and his assistants, John Galloway and Brett Holm are excited to see what the 2013 season will bring.
