    FAIRFIELD, Conn. -

    Providence College men’s lacrosse senior midfielder Josh Torres (Andover, Mass.) has been selected to compete in the 2013 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association’s (NEILA) East/West All-Star game. The game will take place at Merrimack College on Friday, May 31 at 7:00 p.m.

    All three divisions of the NEILA will be represented in this year’s game. Torres was one of nine midfielders selected to compete for the East team. Torres is joined by players from Keene State, Endicott, NEC, Vermont, Connecticut College, Merrimack, Hartford, Quinnipiac and Babson.

    Torres competed in each of Providence’s 16 games this season. He tallied 10 points on five goals and five assists. In addition, Torres recorded three multi-point games and landed 11-of-15 shots on cage for a .733 shots on goal percentage. Torres caused six turnovers in his senior campaign and collected 16 ground balls.

    The West team is comprised of players from UNE, Trinity, Dartmouth, WNEU, Sacred Heart, Springfield, Eastern Connecticut, Bryant, UMass, Fairfield, Tufts and MIT.
