Jarrod Neumann And Keenan Assaraf Selected To Play In 76th Annual USILA/Nike North-South All-Star Game.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Recent Providence College graduates Jarrod Neumann (Springfield, Mass.) and Keenan Assaraf (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.) have been selected to compete in the 76th Annual USILA/Nike North-South All-Star Game and will play for the Division I/II North Team. The rosters for the event were released by the USILA on May 23. On May 17, it was announced that Providence College men’s lacrosse Head Coach Chris Gabrielli will coach the North Team.

The slate of senior all-star games will be played at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium on the campus of Providence College on Friday, May 26. The Division III North-South Game will be played at 3:00 p.m., followed by the Division I/II Game at 5:30 p.m.

Neumann, a defender, finished the 2017 campaign at Providence with three points on two goals and one assist. He collected 27 ground balls and caused 18 turnovers. Neumann was named to the Inside Lacrosse Media All-America Third-Team and also earned NEILA All-New England First-Team honors. He also was tabbed BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year in addition to earning All-BIG EAST First Team recognition and BIG EAST All-Tournament Team accolades.

Assaraf, a midfielder, finished the 2017 season with 14 points on 10 goals and four assists, bringing his career totals to 43 points on 33 goals and 10 assists. His four assists on the year marked a single-season career high. Assaraf tallied a season-high three points for Providence in two games vs. High Point (2g, 1a) and then-ranked No. 11 Hofstra (2g, 1a).



The duo of Neumann and Assaraf helped guide to the Friars to their first-ever national ranking, making an appearance in the USILA/Nike Coaches Poll and the Inside Lacrosse Maverik Media Poll. Providence concluded the season with a 10-7 overall mark and finished third in the BIG EAST Conference with a 3-2 record. The Friars made back-to-back appearances in the BIG EAST Men’s Lacrosse Tournament (2016, 2017), and earned their first-ever BIG EAST Tournament victory on May 4, 2017 with a 10-7 win over 15th-ranked Villanova in the semifinals. Providence fell to Marquette, 10-9, in the BIG EAST Championship Game on May 6.
