Rob Chambers Named MAAC Lax Goaltender of the Week
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College senior goaltender Rob Chambers of Bryn Mawr, Pa., was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Goaltender of the Week on Monday, May 3.
Chambers received the Goaltender of the Week honor after leading the Friar lacrosse team to two wins last week. On April 28, Chambers registered a season-high 26 saves in PC's 16-10 win against Boston College. On May 1, the senior netminder earned the win while making 15 stops in the Friars' 9-5 victory against the University of Hartford. In two wins last week, Chambers registered 41 saves, a 7.11 goals against average and a .745 save percentage. In nine games this season, Chambers posted a 3-1 mark. He recorded 110 saves and registered a 11.44 goals against average and a .640 save percentage. Chambers, a 1995 graduate of the Shipley School, is the son of Robert and Lynne Chambers. The Friars finished the season with a 5-10 mark and a 2-6 record in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action.
