PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Providence College men's lacrosse team is set to face-off against Villanova in its season finale at Villanova Stadium on Saturday, April 25 at 1:00 p.m. in Villanova, Pa.
The contest marks the sixth overall meeting between the two schools with Providence trailing Villanova in the all-time series, 4-1. The two teams last met on April, 27 2013 in the Friars' 2013 season finale where Providence fell to Villanova, 19-11. The Friars last competed on Saturday, April 19 when the Friars hosted then third-ranked Denver. Providence fell to the Pioneers, 14-6, with six different Friars finding the back of the cage in the effort.
Senior Andrew Barton (Timonium, Md.) leads the Friars with 43 points on 28 goals and 15 assists. Fellow senior Sean Wright (Silver Spring, Md.) ranks second on the team in scoring with 40 points on 21 goals and 19 assists. Three additional Friars have tallied double digits in the scoring column. Freshman Alex Corboy (College Park, Md.) led the freshmen class in points with 22. Freshman Joseph Fittzpatrick (Rockville, Md.) and junior Greg FitzMaurice (Huntington, N.Y.) round out the Friars leading scorers with 19 and 15 points, respectively.
Senior face-off specialist Ryan Shaw (East Hampton, N.Y.) has won 99-of-233 attempts at the "X" for a .425 win percentage.
Senior goalie Tyler Himes (Spring City, Pa.) has started each of the Friars' 14 games in the cage. In 758:32 minutes of play Himes has posted 141 saves for a .515 save percentage.

SCOUTING VILLANOVA: Villanova enters Saturday with an overall record of 7-8, including a 5-1 mark in BIG EAST play. Eight Wildcats have tallied double digits in the scoring column. Jack Rice leads Villanova with 37 points on a team-best 37 goals. Max Hart ranks second on the team in scoring with 31 points on 21 goals and 11 assists. Kevin O'Neil rounds out the leading scorers with 27 points on 15 goals and 12 assists. Reed Carlson has played 10 games in goal for the Wildcats. In 577:52 minutes between the pipes, Carlson has posted 91 saves for a .479 save percentage.
