PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Dan Giuntini (Floral Park, N.Y.), a senior on the Providence College men's lacrosse team was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week and freshman Robert Lamontagne (Pittsford, N.Y.) earned Rookie of the Week recognition. The league office announced its weekly honors on Monday, March 28.

Giuntini scored five goals in a 1-1 week for the Friars, including his second hat trick of the season in an 11-9 victory over MAAC foe VMI on March 26. Giuntini has scored at least one goal in each of PC's seven games this season and currently leads the team with 16 points on 15 goals and one assist. With his three goal performance against the Keydets on Saturday, he became the 18th player in Friar lacrosse history to reach the 100-point plateau for his career. Giuntini currently has 102 career points on 79 goals and 23 assists. His 102 points is tied for 16th on PC's all-time career scoring list, while his 79 goals ranked ninth all-time. Giuntini, who was named the league's Preseason Player of the Year, has earned Offensive Player of the Week honors twice this season.

Lamontagne earned MAAC Rookie of the Week honors for the first time in his career on March 28 after registering his first collegiate points against VMI with a hat trick. Lamontagne, a 2004 High School All-America selection from Pittsford Mendon High School, is currently tied for fifth on the team in goals scored (three) through the first seven games of the season.

The Friars will return to action on Saturday, April 2 against non-conference foe Quinnipiac. The game is scheduled to be played at Glay Field in Providence, R.I. and will begin at 2:00 p.m.
