PROVIDENCE, R.I. - On Monday, March 18 junior midfielder Andrew Barton (Timonium, Md.) was named to the BIG EAST men's lacrosse Weekly Honor Roll.
Barton tallied seven points for Providence in its two road games last week. In the Friars' 13-12 win over Quinnipiac, Barton tallied four points on one goal and three assists. In Providence's 16-8 loss to Georgetown, Barton notched three points on two goals and one assist. He finished the week with three goals and four assists.
Barton currently ranks second on the team in scoring with 24 points on 13 goals and 11 assists. Fellow junior Sean Wright (Silver Spring, Md.) leads the Friars in scoring with 25 points on 19 goals and six assists. The duo has combined for 49 of the Friars' 118 points.
Providence returns to action on Tuesday, March 19 when the Friars host No. 4 Syracuse in their BIG EAST home opener. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. and will be played at Lennon Family Field in Providence, R.I.
