PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Andrew McMinn (Pittsburgh, Pa.), a senior goalkeeper on the Providence College men's lacrosse team was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, March 14. It marks the fourth time in his career that he has earned MAAC weekly honors.

McMinn, an All-MAAC Second-Team selection in 2003, led the Friars to their first victory of the season against Vermont (6-3) on Sunday, March 13. McMinn collected 12 saves between the pipes and faced a total of 26 shots. Eight of his 12 saves came in the second half, including five in the fourth quarter to secure the win.

Providence College (1-3) opens Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play against Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, March 19 in Emmitsburg, Md. The game is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
