    PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College senior lacrosse captain Andrew Barton (Timonium, Md.) was named to the 2014 Division All-NEILA Second Team, it was announced Thursday, Feb. 13.

    Barton enters his senior campaign with 100 career points on 54 goals and 46 assists. Barton tallied his 100th career point on April 27, 2013 on an assist against Villanova. Barton was the 21st Friar to reach the 100-point plateau.

    Barton, a senior captain, started each of the Friars' 16 games last season. He ranked second on the team in scoring with 45 points on 27 goals and a team-high 18 assists. Barton landed 64 of his 95 shots on goal for a .674 shots on goal percentage. In addition, Barton caused 16 turnovers and collected 32 groundballs.

    Recently Barton was selected 53rd overall by the Florida Launch in the 2014 Major League Lacrosse (MLL) Collegiate Draft (Jan. 10).
