Men's Lacrosse Defeated By Quinnipiac In MAAC Semifinals

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Providence College men's lacrosse team was defeated by Quinnipiac, 13-2, on Saturday, May 5, in the semifinals of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship, in Poughkeepsie N.Y. The Friars only goals came in the first quarter, as Jon Meehan and C.P. Kenny connected for one goal each. At the end of the first quarter, the score was 4-2. The Braves of Quinnipiac went on to score nine more unanswered goals in the game, earning the win and the right to advance to the Finals on Sunday, May 6 against the winner of Mount St. Mary's versus Sacred Heart. John Farley made 11 saves in goal before being relieved by Paul Doran in the fourth quarter. Doran made two saves and allowed one Quinnipiac goal. Quinnipiac was led by Joe Baglio, who netted six goals and registered two assists. Goaltender T.J. Barnett earned the win with 11 saves, and allowed the only two Friar goals. Providence finishes the season with a 7-9 overall record. Quinnipiac remains alive with a 14-1 overall mark.
