Men's Lacrosse Falls To Canisius, 15-11
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Canisius scored seven goals in the fourth quarter to earn a 15-11 win against Providence College in men's MAAC lacrosse action on Wednesday, April 12 at Buffalo, N.Y. The Friars trailed, 7-4, after 30 minutes of play but outscored the Golden Griffins, 4-1, in the third quarter to tie the game at 8-8. PC's Jim Dooley got the Friar offense started with the second of his team high four goals at 13:15 of the third quarter. Ken Leahy, Chris Houston and John Pisinski also scored for the Friars in the third quarter. PC's defense could not hold up in the fourth quarter as Canisius outscored the Friars, 7-3, in the final 15 minutes of action. Tim Spaulding led Canisius' offense with three goals and four assists. With the victory, Canisius improved to 3-8 overall and 3-5 in MAAC action, while Providence fell to 5-6 overall and 4-3 in league play. The Friars will return to action on Saturday, April 15 against Manhattan at PC's Glay Field at 2:00 p.m.
