Final Stats

FAIRFIELD, CONN. - The Providence College men's lacrosse team fell to 20th-ranked Fairfield, 9-5, on Wednesday, April 6 in Fairfield, Conn. The Friars were led offensively by senior Sean Kirwan (Drexel Hill, Pa.) who scored two goals and added one assist.

The Stags jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, as they improve to 7-2 overall. Providence drops to 2-7 with the loss. Two of its seven losses on the season have come at the hands of a ranked opponent.

Freshman Robert Lamontagne (Pittsford, N.Y.) contributed two goals, while senior Jonathan Hollister (Longmeadow, Mass.) added one goal and one assist. Freshman Bennett Murphy (Princeton, N.J.) tallied two assists for the Friars.

Fairfield was led by Kyle Herman and Greg Downing, who each recorded two goals and one assist. Travis Nelson also netted two goals for the Stags.

Michael Kruger made 10 saves for Fairfield in goal, including nine in the second half, to earn the win. Sophomore Peter Littell (Upper Montclair, N.J.) registered 16 saves for PC.

Providence will return to action on Saturday, April 9 against MAAC foe St. Joseph's at 2:00 p.m. The game will be played at Glay Field in Providence, R.I.
