Providence Falls to Drexel, 14-10

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Drexel University defeated Providence College, 14-10, in men's lacrosse action on Saturday, April 3 at Providence, R.I. Jason Kilpatrick led Drexel to victory with a team high seven points (four goals, three assists).

Drexel's Matt Winkler scored the first goal of the game as he was assisted by Jeff Spano with 13:59 left in the first quarter. After taking a 3-0 lead on two goals by Kilpatrick, Drexel surrendered three unanswered goals to finish the first quarter. Rory Wentworth got the Friars on the board with 6:45 remaining in the first quarter. Drexel led 6-4 at halftime after Kilpatrick, Keith Cooke and Jeff Iannarino each added one goal in the second quarter. Drexel increased its lead to 11-5 after three quarters following a five-goal outburst in the third.

The Friars scored five goals in the fourth quarter but it was not enough as Drexel took the 14-10 decision. PC was led on offense by Ken Leahy who contributed three goals and four assists.

With the win, Drexel raised its record to 4-2, while Providence fell to 0-7.

The Friars will return to action on April 10 at Manhattan at 1:00.
