Lacrosse Defeated At Quinnipiac, 11-7

HAMDEN, Conn. -- The Providence College lacrosse team was defeated at Quinnipiac University, 11-7, on Saturday, March 24 in a MAAC Conference game on a rain-soaked Braves Field in Hamden, Conn.

The Friars (1-5) fell behind early in the contests, as the Braves (4-0) led 3-0 after the first quarter and 5-2 at halftime. Providence scored five times in the fourth quarter, but could not overcome the Quinnipiac lead.

Junior Chris Houston (Garden City, N.Y.) led the Friars with four goals and sophomore Skip Dunphy (Manhasset, N.Y.) added two goals in the defeat.

The Friars return to action on Tuesday, March 27 when they host the University of Hartford at 3:30 p.m. on PC's Glay Field.
