Men's Lacrosse Defeats Siena, 15-3
LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -- Providence College sophomore Chris Houston scored five goals and led the Friars to a 15-3 win over Siena in men's MAAC lacrosse action on Wednesday, March 22 at Loudonville, N.Y. The Friars took an early 5-0 lead as Ken Leahy scored PC's first goal and assisted on two others in the first quarter. Siena got on the scoreboard with 1:28 remaining in the first quarter on a goal by Chris Gallaghan. PC extended its lead in the second quarter, outscoring Siena, 4-1. In the second half, PC was led by Houston, who scored four of his five goals in the third quarter. Leahy also had a strong second half for the Friars, recording four of his game-high seven assists in the final 30 minutes of the game. Brian McCarthy earned the win in goal for PC, recording 17 saves while earning his fifth victory of the season. With the victory, Providence improved to 5-0 overall and 4-0 in MAAC action, while Siena fell to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in league play. The Friars will return to action on Saturday, March 25 against the University of Denver at PC's Glay Field at 1:00 p.m.
