Men's Lacrosse Earns 8-7 Victory Over Air Force

DENVER, Colo. - The Providence College men's lacrosse team defeated Air Force, on Sunday, March 10, in Denver, Colorado, as part of the Pioneer Face Off Classic. Freshman David Krasnica (Mendham, N.J.), junior Skip Dunphy (Manhasset, N.Y.) and sophomore Kevin Kornobis (Merrick, N.Y.) scored two goals each to lead the Friars. Kornobis tallied what proved to be the eventual game-winning goal with 5:53 remaining in the game. Freshman Frank Bosco (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) assisted on the game winner. Kornobis added two assists on the day, while Krasnica and Dunphy were credited with one assist each. Senior Kyle Ojakian (Cheshire, Conn.) scored one goal and added two assists. Senior Chris Houston (Garden City, N.Y.) rounded out the Friar attack with his first goal of the season. Senior goaltender John Farley (West Simsbury, Conn.) registered 14 saves in the net for PC. Farley has earned decisions in both games for Providence this season, and holds a record of 1-1 on the season. The Friars host Harvard in their home-opener on Wednesday, March 13 at 3:00 p.m. The game is scheduled to be played at Glay Field on the campus of Providence College. PC will also play host to Vermont on Saturday, March 16 at 2:00 p.m., in Providence, R.I.
