Final Stats

WORCESTER, MASS. - The Providence College men's lacrosse team fell to Holy Cross, 5-4, during non-conference action in Worcester, Mass. Grant Cowherd led the Crusaders with two goals in the victory. PC's Dan Giuntini (Floral Park, N.Y.) scored two goals for the second-straight game to open the season.

Each team took a total of 25 shots in the game. Providence held the advantage in groundballs, 21-18. Holy Cross won six of 11 face-off opportunities on the day.

In goal, sophomore Peter Littell (Upper Montclair, N.J.) collected 14 saves for Providence. Matt Fallon made 13 stops in goal for the Crusaders to secure the win.

Joining Giuntini in the scoring column for Providence was Jonathan Hollister (Longmeadow, Mass.) and Henry Pynchon (Ipswich, Mass.) who netted one goal each. Tom Kelly (Henniker, N.H.) registered one assist.

For Holy Cross, John O'Sullivan, Billy Klotz and Mike McKee each tallied one goal.
