Keith Loftis begins his 11th season as an assistant coach with the Providence College men's lacrosse program. Loftis joined the Friar lacrosse team in 2000 and spent two seasons as a volunteer coach under the direction of Head Coach Chris Burdick. In 2002, Loftis was elevated to first assistant, and will continue to serve in that capacity for an eighth season in 2009. Loftis is the Friars' recruiting coordinator.
Loftis attended Corning Community College for one year and went on to complete his associates degree in liberal arts at Morrisville State University in 1995. He played lacrosse at Corning and Morrisville and earned All-Region honors each year. At the conclusion of the 1995 season at Morrisville, Loftis was selected to participate in the Junior College North/South All-Star Game.
Loftis enrolled at Potsdam State University, where he completed a bachelor of arts degree in psychology in 1997. Loftis also was a member of the lacrosse team at Potsdam.
Loftis served as the Head Coach of the men's lacrosse program at Cobleskill State University for two seasons (1998-99). During that time, he also was employed as the Interim Director of Recreation and Intramurals.
Loftis has served as a member of the board for Rhode Island Lacrosse.
A native of Whitesboro, N.Y., Loftis earned a master's degree in education/counseling from Providence College in 2001. He and his wife, Elisangela, currently reside in Providence, R.I.
