    PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

    After a come-from-behind 3-3 tie at No. 19 Northeastern (Dec. 6), the Providence College men’s hockey team moved to No. 5 in the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls.

    The Friars are now 11-2-3 on the season and are tied for first in Hockey East. With the No. 5 ranking, Providence has been ranked 10th or better for nine consecutive weeks.

    The Friars are the highest ranked Hockey East team in each poll, with Boston College right behind at No. 6, followed by UMass-Lowell (No. 9/10), Notre Dame (No. 13/13) and Northeastern (No. 16/RV).

    Providence now breaks for final exams before playing a 7:00 p.m. game on Dec. 20 at Army.
