Men's Hockey Stays At No. 5/6 In The National Polls

    PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

    After a weekend sweep of Merrimack, the Providence College men's hockey team moved up one place to No. 5 in the USCHO.com poll and down one place to No. 6 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll. For the first time this season, the Friars received a first place vote in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.

    The Friars are now 7-1-1 on the season. On Friday, Nov. 8, the Friars posted a 1-0 win at Merrimack for their first road win of the season. Then on Saturday, Nov. 9, Providence came back from a 2-1 third-period deficit to beat the Warriors 4-2.

    The Friar hit the road this weekend for a two-game series against Hockey East rival Vermont at the Gutterson Field House. The series opens at 7:05 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15 and will conclude with a game at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16. Saturday's game will be televised live on NESN.
