Providence College men's hockey Head Coach Tim Army finalized the 2009-10 schedule on Tuesday, September 29. The Friars will play a total of 34 regular-season games, 17 of which will be played at home. In addition, the Friars will have eight games that will be locally broadcast on Cox Sports Television and one that will be aired on NESN. The Friars will open the 2009-10 season on Friday, October 9 when they play an exhibition game against New Brunswick at Schneider Arena. PC will then play its first regular-season game on Saturday, October 10, against Holy Cross at Schneider Arena. The game against Holy Cross is the first of eight games that will be televised on Cox Sports. Providence then will play four consecutive road games. PC will make its first-ever trip to South Bend, Ind. to face Notre Dame on Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16. The following weekend, the Friars will travel to Bowling Green, Ohio to take on Bowling Green State University on Friday, October 23 and Saturday, October 24. The first Hockey East game will be played on Friday, October 30 against the UMass Minutemen at Schneider Arena. Of the 34 regular-season games, 27 will be Hockey East contests, including a January 15 home matchup against defending national champion, Boston University at Schneider Arena.
