PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College announced today (Sept. 22) that YurView will televise four men’s basketball and 11 men’s hockey games during the 2017-18 season. Cox cable customers in Rhode Island can find YurView on channels 4 and 1004 (HD).
“We appreciate the exposure for our athletic teams having our games broadcasted on YurView,” Providence College Athletics Director Bob Driscoll said. “Our fans throughout Rhode Island have the opportunity to see Friar Athletics at home via YurView.”
YurView kicks off its coverage of Providence College men’s basketball with the season-opener against Houston Baptist on Nov. 10 live from Alumni Hall on the PC campus. The Friars will appear on YurView on three other occasions – vs. Rider (Nov. 29), at St. John’s (Dec. 28), and vs. DePaul (Feb. 10). Games versus Seton Hall (Feb. 21) and St. John’s (Mar. 3) could be added later in the season.
The Providence College men’s hockey team will be featured 11 times from Schneider Arena on YurView this winter, kicking off against Hockey East rivals Boston College (Oct. 27) and Boston University (Oct. 28). First half coverage continues against UMass (Nov. 11), Merrimack (Nov. 17), New Hampshire (Dec. 1), and RIT (Dec. 8). The Friars will have five second half home games on YurView during the playoff push, starting with the 32nd Annual Mayor’s Cup against cross-city rival Brown (Jan. 3). YurView’s men’s hockey coverage concludes with contests against UConn (Jan. 20), Northeastern (Jan. 27), Maine (Feb. 10), and UMass Lowell (Feb. 16).
