Providence College men’s hockey Head Coach Nate Leaman released the 2011-12 schedule on Wednesday, June 8. The schedule features 34 regular season games, and one exhibition contest. Of the 35 total games, 20 will be played at PC’s Schneider Arena.
The Friars will begin the season with four consecutive home games. They play the season opener on Friday, October 14 against Hockey East foe Boston University and host Massachusetts the next night. The following weekend, PC will play two games against defending national champion Minnesota-Duluth on October 21-22. The Friars complete the month of October (28-29) with two games at the University of Maine.
The Friars will play four non-conference games in November, including two home contests against Alabama-Huntsville (November 11-12). They also will play Miami University and Princeton in the Denver Cup Classic on November 25-26.
The 2011-12 slate features 27 Hockey East games and seven non-conference contests. PC will play its final non-league game on January 1, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. when it hosts Brown University in the 26th Annual Mayor’s Cup at Schneider Arena.
