Former Providence College hockey defenseman and current member of the New Jersey Devils Mark Fayne `10 was named to the U.S. Men's National Team on April 13. Fayne was one of 16 players selected to the U.S. Team that will compete in the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) World Championship from April 29-May 15 in Slovakia.
Fayne, who recently completed his first season with the Devils, recorded four goals, 10 assists for 14 points in 57 games. He led New Jersey in plus/minus rating (+10) and was the third leading scoring defenseman with 14 points.
Fayne played four years at PC and was named the team's Ron Wilson Best Defensive Player each season. In his final season, he earned Hockey East Honorable Mention accolades as he finished with 22 points on five goals and a career-high 17 assists. He also was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team as a freshman.
