PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The New England Hockey Writers Association announced on Wednesday (March 28) that Providence College's Jacob Bryson (London, Ontario) and Hayden Hawkey (Parker, Colo.) were named Division I New England All-Stars. Additionally, senior captain Brian Pinho (North Andover, Mass.) earned the Frank Jones Award as New England's Best Defensive Forward.

A sophomore and alternate captain, Bryson also was named a First Team Hockey All-Star earlier this month, becoming the sixth Friar defenseman to earn First Team All-Star recognition from the Hockey East. Bryson led all Hockey East defenseman in conference games with 13 assists and a plus-16 rating, finishing second in scoring with 17 points. Overall, Bryson tallied career-highs in goals (4), assists (21), and points (25), while recording eight multi-point efforts in 2017-18.

Pinho also garnered Third Team Hockey East All-Star accolades after matching a career-high in goals (12) and posting 32 points overall. He was named Hockey East Player of the Week on Jan. 8 for the first time in his career and was a Walter Brown Award semifinalist.
