Two Men's Hockey Players Earn Hockey East Honorable Mention Accolades

BOSTON, Mass. - It was announced on Thursday, March 18 that Providence College men's hockey senior defenseman Mark Fayne (Sagamore Beach, Mass.) and sophomore goalie Alex Beaudry (Cumberland, Ont.) each earned Hockey East Honorable Mention accolades.

In 27 Hockey East games, Fayne recorded 18 points on four goals and 14 assists. Overall, he finished with five goals and a career-high 17 assists and 22 points. Fayne, who was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team in 2007, enjoyed his best season as a Friar this season. He had five multiple-point games, including a four-point performance in a win against UMass Lowell on November 24.

Beaudry played in 26 league games, posted a 3.05 goals against average and a .914 save percentage. Overall, Beaudry played in 31 of the 34 games and finished with a 2.87 goals against average and a .916 save percentage. He totaled 906 saves this season, which ranks fifth in PC's single-season saves list.
