The Providence College men's hockey team is ranked No. 15 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll and No. 17 in the USCHO.com/CSTV Poll, which were released on Monday, March 3.

PC (14-13-5 overall, 11-9-5 Hockey East) posted a 1-0-1 record against No. 8 Boston College over the weekend as the Friars climbed into a fourth-place tie with BC in the Hockey East standings. On Friday, February 29, the Friars defeated the Eagles, 3-2, at Kelley Rink in Chestnut Hill, Mass. Freshman Jordan Kremyr (Cloverdale, B.C.) scored a career-high two goals, while classmate Ian O'Connor (Londonderry, N.H.) scored the game-winning goal in the second period to lift the Friars to their second win at Kelley Rink this season. In goal, senior Tyler Sims (Fort Wayne, Ind.) made 35 saves. The following night, the two teams skated to a 2-2 overtime tie at Schneider Arena. Sophomore Mark Fayne (Bourne, Mass.) and junior Nick Mazzolini (Anchorage, Alaska) each scored, while Sims stopped 29 shots.

The Friars, who are currently in a fourth-place tie in the Hockey East standings, are back in action on Thursday, March 6 when they host the Boston University Terriers, who are in a second-place tie. The two teams also will play Friday night in Boston with the game being aired live on NESN.
