No. 14 Men's Hockey To Host No. 11 Boston University in Hockey East Quarterfinals at Schneider Arena
March 2, 2003 PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The 14th-ranked Providence College men's hockey team will host No. 11 Boston University in a best-of-three Hockey East quarterfinal series, beginning on Thursday, March 6 at 7:00 p.m. at Schneider Arena. Thursday night's game can be seen live on Fox Sports New England. The second game is Friday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m. and if a third game is necessary it will be on Saturday, March 8 at 7:00 p.m. All games will be played at Schneider Arena. Providence (19-12-3 overall, 12-9-3 Hockey East) finished the regular season tied for fourth place (27 points) in the league with Boston University (21-12-3, 13-10-1), but because the Friars won the regular season series against the Terriers (2-0-1), PC earned home ice advantage. PC and BU will be meeting in the Hockey East quarterfinals for the third-consecutive season and the fourth out of the last five seasons. In their last regular season game on February 28, the Friars defeated UMass Lowell, 3-1, at Schneider Arena to improve their record to 6-0-2 in February. It marked the first time that PC had been undefeated in the month of February since the 1988-89 season.
