The Northeastern Huskies scored three goals in the last 3:03 of the game to overcome a 4-2 deficit and defeat the Providence College Friars, 5-4, in HOCKEY EAST action on Saturday, January 9 at PC's Schneider Arena.

Northeastern got on the scoreboard first when Mike Jozefowicz blasted a shot from the right point through a screen which squirted through goaltender Boyd Ballard's five hole at 2:16 of the first period. PC evened the score on a power-play goal by Jon Cameron. Cameron picked up a rebound of Josh MacNevin's shot from the right point and rifled it in at 17:19 of the first.

In a wide open second period that featured both teams having excellent scoring opportunities, the Friars came up with the only goal of the period. Doug Sheppard took a faceoff in the Northeastern zone and dropped back to Jason Ialongo who fired a wrist shot past NU goaltender Jason Braun at the 6:42 mark.

Fernando Pisani scored an unassisted goal at 11:08 of the third to give PC a 3-1 lead. NU's Todd Barclay intercepted a clearing pass and zipped a backhander past Ballard to cut the Friars' lead to 3-2. However, PC's Jerry Keefe made a nifty move on a breakaway and slid a shot past Braun at 13:29 to reclaim the Friars' two-goal advantage. With 3:03 remaining in the game, Jozefowicz blasted in his second goal from the point on a power play to begin NU's comeback. Chris Lynch scored for the Huskies at 17:37 and Willie Levesque tapped in a rebound at 19:18 for the game winner.

With the win, Northeastern raised its record to 7-11-1 overall and 3-8-1 in HOCKEY EAST action, while Providence fell to 9-9 overall and 5-5 in league play.

Providence College will return to action against Brown on Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Providence, R.I.
